Introducing the game-changing laundry pick-up service: Dobbi
June 18, 2018
From now on, you no longer have to do it yourself. Skip the trip to the dry cleaner. Skip the endless sock sorting. Skip the whole mind-numbing routine. Let dobbi do it for you. The startup is offering a new, digital laundry delivery service that TBWA\MOBILE & TBWA\NEBOKO helped realise. Two strategic partners, PostNL and Henkel, with its top brand Persil, saw potential and invested in this promising business model.
"Perfectly clean clothes, returned within 48 hours: That’s the promise we make to our customers," said dobbi founders Ruben van Pelt and Maurits Tiethoff. Together with these guys we created the mobile-first experience that makes this magic happen.
How it works
With just a few swipes, you will start experiencing a life filled with small wonders. You will have time left for the more fun things in life. This is how it works:
1. Place an order via the app (for iOS and Android)
You will receive a free starter kit before your first pick up.
2. Select the pick up time
A PostNL driver will pick up your order in the selected 2 hour time window
3. Let the magic happen
The expert cleaners of dobbi will do their magic at their state of the art facility.
4. Have it delivered at your convenience
It will be brought back when it suits you within 48 hours
We enabled a tracking system in the app to follow your dirty and clean clothes and select the convenient time for pick-up and delivery. A type of interaction and convenience that builds trust and generates loyalty.
About dobbi, and how it all began
Maurits Tiethoff founded Bubble & Stitch five years ago. "It started with a single, 24/7 dry-cleaning shop in Amsterdam, but soon we had various service points throughout the city’s business area," said Tiethoff. In the pursuit of ultimate convenience, he developed an innovative locker system. The next step was a door-to-door service in collaboration with PostNL, which was launched in early 2017. Bubble & Stitch was later named Best Dry Cleaner in the Netherlands and won seventh place in world rankings.
Under the leadership of Ruben van Pelt, dry-cleaning service Topcleaning in Harderwijk was voted Best Dry Cleaning in Europe and second-best dry cleaner in the world. The plans for dobbi were hashed out during the biggest global dry-cleaning fair in Las Vegas, where the two founders decided to combine their knowledge and strengths to create a joint nationwide service in the Netherlands.
Strategic partners and investors on board
The Head of Corporate Venturing at Henkel Laundry & Home Care, Thomas Schuffenhauer, is thrilled about the partnership and mentioned the following: “On-demand services are becoming increasingly important to consumers. Nowadays, people not only expect high-quality products, but also want the best services to meet their needs in a changing world. That’s why we are delighted to announce our strategic partnership with dobbi.”
PostNL partners in the realisation of this great concept. A spokesman of this second investor is convinced of the success of dobbi: "Our focus is on the growth of our logistics activities in the e-commerce market, including sector-oriented solutions. For instance, we deliver flowers, medicines and fresh groceries, cooled and transported with care. The dry-cleaning service can also be operated using hanging-garment transport. At PostNL, we have tested the logistics for dobbi extensively. Based on the first results, we are convinced that dobbi will quickly become a success nationwide.''
TBWA\NEBOKO and TBWA\MOBILE worked together with this mobile first start-up from branding to digital strategy and also developed both the app (for iOS and Android) as well as the website for dobbi. Check it out!
